Formalized

A double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study was conducted by Animal Health Consultants, a leading third-party animal health testing company, to validate that Petandim reduces cellular stress in dogs. The study’s findings indicated a reduction in cellular stress, increased mobility, and improved cognitive function. LifeVantage will continue to conduct clinical trials to back up our findings and the efficacy of Petandim.

Petandim: The Absolute BEST Nrf2 Activation For Your Dogs

LifeVantage Petandim is the first supplement for dogs that uses Nrf2 activation to prevent oxidative stress.

LifeVantage Petandim is the first supplement for dogs that uses Nrf2 activation to prevent oxidative stress.

Free radicals and other chemically reactive chemicals known as reactive oxygen species (ROS) disrupt a biological system’s antioxidant defenses, causing oxidative stress. The enzymes catalase and superoxide dismutase, as well as the tripeptide glutathione, are among these defenses.

These molecules, as well as proteins, lipids, and DNA, can be damaged by oxidative stress. Cell death, or apoptosis, can result from oxidative stress. Reduced oxidative stress, according to scientists, is essential for optimum health. Free radicals are unstable molecules containing an unpaired electron that react with other chemicals in an attempt to gain the electron required for stability. Free radicals are produced as a result of breathing oxygen, as well as by exposure to pollutants, radiation, cigarette smoke, and hard exercise.

Oxidative stress affects not only humans but also animals, such as dogs, who are a popular companions for people all over the world.

Designed to Fight Oxidative Stress by Activating Nrf2

Petandim, a supplement developed by LifeVantage, is designed to help dogs fight oxidative stress by activating Nrf2. The independent study, done in part at Prescott Animal Hospital in Prescott, Arizona, looked at the effects of Petandim on healthy dogs in terms of oxidative stress indicators.

This was a 60-day, multisite, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial in which 80 dogs of any breed were randomly assigned to one of two groups: treatment or placebo. The study was completed by 76 of the 80 dogs. The dogs were 8.6 years old on average. Health results, as well as haematological and biochemical abnormalities, were reviewed by veterinarians and owners.

The following are some of the most noteworthy findings from the Petandim study:

Veterinary technicians and owners noted that dogs given the active substance were more active, playful, and alert before the trial sites were unblinded.

  • When compared to the placebo group, active treatment dogs had a significantly lower average Owner Overall Assessment Score.
  • Veterinary technicians and owners noted that dogs given the active substance were more enthusiastic, playful, and alert before the trial sites were unblinded.
  • Furthermore, based on the above-mentioned reactions, technicians at Prescott Animal Hospital confirmed that they were able to identify which dogs were getting the active substance.
  • From day one to day 60 of the test, the dogs in the active group had a 36 percent rise in catalase. On the other hand, at day 60, dogs given the placebo had an 11% drop in catalase.
  • According to study results, dogs receiving the active product had a 47 percent higher catalase activity than dogs getting a placebo on the 60th and final day of the study. Based on this information, the active substance may up-regulate the dogs’ oxidative capacity, giving a protective benefit against oxidative stress.

The Petandim product was shown to be extremely well-tolerated and safe, as evidenced by the absence of any adverse effects, clinical results, or alterations in chemistry or haematology.

“LifeVantage Petandim meets all criteria for a safe and easily administered product that targets multiple oxidative stress pathways in canines,” says Dr. Maureen McMichael, DVM, DACVECC, Associate Professor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois, a leading authority on oxidative stress in pets. Based on my years of research into oxidative stress in pets and figures from the American Pet Products Association, which show that dogs account for 39 percent of all households in the United States, with a total population of over 78 million.”

The continuous study demonstrates the importance of this supplement for improving the health and quality of life of dogs as they age.
