Apple and Carrot Dog Cake Recipe – Human-Safe – Whole Wheat Pupcakes

📏 Best For: Treat Time
⏳ Prep Time: 10 min

⏱️ Cook Time: 15-20 min bake time
🍽️ Servings: Makes 4–6 pupcakes (1–2 days of treats depending on dog size)
💡 Special Notes: ✔️ No added sugar
✔️ Dairy-optional (banana-only frosting alternative)
✔️ Wheat-alternative options available

Ingredients

Main Base: Pupcake Batter

1 apple, grated (no seeds/core)

1 carrot, grated

1 egg

¼ cup olive oil or coconut oil (both support coat & skin health)

½ tsp cinnamon (aids digestion – use Ceylon if available)

½ tsp baking soda (for fluffiness – safe in small amounts)

¾ cup whole wheat or oat flour (choose oat flour for gluten-sensitive pups)

Frosting (optional but adorable):

½ banana mashed

¼ cup plain Greek yogurt (or omit for dairy-free version)

🧠 Healthy Tip:

🛑 Caution: Always avoid apple seeds and core (contain cyanide compounds).

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix all pupcake batter ingredients in a bowl until combined.
  3. Spoon into lined muffin tins or silicone molds (¾ full).
  4. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool completely before frosting.
  6. Frost with the banana-yogurt mix and top with a dog biscuit if desired.

🍴 Pro Tip: Let pupcakes cool fully so the frosting doesn’t melt off.
